When you design your own Labouchere Line you have to remember that amount of money you will profit when you finish the line. So in our previous example of 1 2 3 4, we know that if we finish this line our profit will be 10 units (1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10). You have 2 options to design own Labouchere Line, either a longer line with smaller numbers or a smaller line with larger numbers. For the example above, you could have another labouchere line that also had a potential profit of 10 units with, 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1. Which one is better? Let's analyze it:

The bigger the numbers in the Labouchere Line, the faster you bet sizes increase when you face a losing streak. So it makes no sense to use long lines with very high numbers like "8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15", as you can run into uncomfortably high numbers or even get problems with the table limits. On the other hand, the more spins do you need to finish the line. The advantage of a longer line is that you will not face big bets when you hit a loosing streak.

Therefore, each option has its pros and cons. You need come up with your own balance of line length and size of numbers against how much profit you want to aim for. In coming up with a Labouchere line you need to make sure that the sum of the outside numbers does not exceed the table limit.

To create a sub-line, you take the sum of the last number from your main line and create a new Labouchere sub-line that equals that number. If you find you have follow line: 3 4 7 10 13 16

And, the next bet is 19 units, which might be too high for you or it closes to the table limit. In this situation, you can split the last number, the 16 to a sub-line:

In this case, instead of the next bet being 19 units (3 + 16 from the main line) we only need to bet 4 units ( 1 + 3 from the sub-line). Once you finish the sub-line you can cross out the corresponding number in the main line.
